Your challenge and today's numbers

How the calculator counts
- Daily loss limit = account size × daily %. Today's floor = today's start balance (or equity, if your firm uses equity) − the daily limit. Open trades count: if your equity touches the floor, the rule is broken even if the trade later recovers.
- Static maximum loss: floor = account size − account size × max %. It never moves.
- Trailing: floor = highest balance − account size × max %. It rises as your balance makes new highs.
- Trailing end of day: the same, but the highest balance is only taken at the end of each trading day.
- Distance to a breach = current equity − the higher of the two floors, so it shows the rule you would break first.
- Example risk per trade = distance ÷ 3, so three full losses in a row would not end the challenge. It is only an example, not advice.
- Colours: green while more than half of the daily allowance is left, amber below half, red below a quarter.
Worked example: why trailing drawdown catches traders
A $100,000 account with a 10% maximum loss. With a static limit the floor stays at $90,000. With a trailing limit, growing the account to $106,000 moves the floor to $96,000. A drop back to $95,500 then breaks the trailing rule, while the same account under a static rule would still have $5,500 of room. Add a 5% daily limit from a $102,000 start of day and today's floor is $97,000, so on that day the daily limit is the one to watch.
Firms count drawdown differently: check your rules
- Some measure the daily limit from the start-of-day balance, others from the start-of-day equity or the higher of the two, and the day may reset at midnight in the firm's time zone, not yours.
- Some use a percentage of the initial balance, others of the current balance.
- Trailing limits may follow equity (open profit counts) or only closed balance, and may stop trailing at the starting balance.
- Consistency rules, news rules and minimum days can end a challenge too.
Read your firm's own rulebook before you trade. Our prop firm challenge tracker page compares FTMO, FundedNext and The5%ers with links to their official rules, and the Urdu guide پراپ فرم چیلنج: ڈیلی لاس اور ڈرا ڈاؤن explains the same ideas step by step.

How is a trailing drawdown calculated?
Take the highest balance your account has reached and subtract the maximum loss in money (account size times the max %). With a $100,000 account, a 10% limit and a highest balance of $106,000, the floor is $96,000.
What is the difference between trailing and trailing end-of-day drawdown?
A trailing limit can move up during the day as your balance makes new highs. An end-of-day trailing limit only uses the balance at the end of each day, so a winning trade during the day does not raise the floor until the day closes.
Do open trades count towards the daily loss limit?
At most firms, yes: the limit is checked against equity, so a floating loss that touches today's floor breaks the rule even if the trade recovers later. Check your firm's rules.
